FAQ

FAQ

Where in the World do you ship?

At the moment I only ship within the UK. Because several of Bexhill Darkroom products include photographic chemistry, international regulations and courier restrictions make overseas shipping complicated and unreliable. Limiting orders to the UK means everything arrives safely, quickly, and fully compliant.

What Is your refund / exchange policy?

Our refunds & exchange policy can be found here:
https://bexhill-darkroom.com/policies/refund-policy

What should I do if my payment isn’t accepted?

What is our dispatch time frame?

We aim to dispatch all products either on the same day or next day. If for some reason there is a delay in dispatch we will contact you via email within 24 hours.

How long will it take for my order to arrive once dispatched?

If products are being dispatched to a UK address the time frame is 2-4 business days with a flat rate of £3.95. For international shipping please allow 2-11 business days with a flat rate of £13.95

Are all our chemical product compliant with CLP regulations?

In accordance with CLP regulations all our packaging / labelling and SDS’s are compliant.

Should I size paper for all alternative processes?

With the exception of Cyanotypes we recommend you size all papers with a 2% solution of gelatine. We find the best way to size paper is to let it partially air dry for about 45 mins (depending on conditions) and then complete the drying with a hair dryer on a low heat setting. We find letting the size dry over night in cool conditions isn’t very effective as the size soaks too deeply into the paper.

Which side of inkjet digital contact film should I print on?

With a damp finger test a corner of the film and check which side feels sticky. The sticky side is the printing side.

How should I store purchased chemicals?

All our sensitisers should be treated as light sensitive and stored in a cool (circa 10°C - 20°C) dark environment. Most raw solid chemicals are not light sensitive (unless otherwise stated) and should be stored in either there original packaging or an airtight container away from moisture or heat.

What is the shelf life of our chemical products?

In most cases out prepared chemical solutions are made to order and providing they are stored correctly should have a shelf light of 12-18 months. Dry chemical products should last a few to several years if kept away from heat and stored in an airtight container.

What should I do if I have further questions?

If you have further questions contact hello@bexhill-darkroom.com in most cases we’ll respond within a few hours.
